Hey Lauren! When are you leaving for school? I know Emily is so cute. I only have two nieces but they are two very special nieces. Speaking of my nieces, Kristie are you with us?
I'm moving to Maryland on August 27th. Classes start on September 2nd. I'm excited to go but at this point just want to get settled in the new apartment, get a routine down, get comfortable with all the changes. Change is excited but also scary! I was thinking about the video of Nonna and how at one point she is talking about when she was about to get on the boat to leave to come to the US and Patti asked her what her mother said - and Nonna just said that her mom was like - 'If this is what you want to do'. I felt like I saw my grandma Rosie and my mom and even Aunt Lori in that moment - A sort of "matter of fact-ly" response, that is encouraging but cautious. Like saying - I'm absolutely here for you 100% but I also hope you are being realistic about what you are about to do... It made me smile -
I hear you. Change is hard. I have gone through so many changes in my life and you know what, I am STILL going through changes. But it makes you strong and expands your horizon.
It is interesting how with Nonna- there are similarities with our lives although she was born over a century ago. She left her home and her family for a better life.
It is sad in some ways but look what she gave us. More opportunities. Right now we could all be on a farm in Naples taking care of the cows!
I find the next generation (my mom, aunt rosie, and antoinette)so different and interesting.
Think about it. Their mother was a pioneer and then they were very traditional and conservative with choices. Makes you wonder?
Two questions-
Whose voice do you hear in the beginning of the video laughing?
Who moves the flower arrangement?
They are still with us. Behind the scenes...
Lauren you will do fine. Tackle the world! Good luck and remember "You represent us."

I agree with Lauren... and she seems so happy!
Wouldn't you be happy if you were four years old (well almost) and didn't have a worry in the world!
P.S. How do I change my comments so that when posted it doesn't say from "the girls"?
Patricia

You are so corny but I appreciate being one of your special nieces- ha ha
I'll send some pictures along soon...
